After the last couple of weeks of craziness (both business and family life) today has had a welcome calm about it. There’s been a chance to catch up on answering enquiries (people looking to stay Easter and May Bank Holiday today) and to do a bit of events research for the website.
Guests and locals always comment on the content of our website… lots of information about what events are happening locally and also details of activities and places to visit. But it does take a bit (understatement!) of effort to put it all together. Nobody emails me with things that are happening I have to roll my sleeves up and delve into the depths of Google to find them.
Today, with the help of Google Alerts, I’ve picked up on some events in Coed y Brenin… the Bike Demo Day on April 11th (http://demodays.bikeradar.com/) is always a good one. Bikes have to be booked in advance and so potential guests tend to plan their accommodation a little bit in advance. Being at the end of the Easter school holidays it’ll be a very busy weekend.
The Mawddach Gold Rush Mountain Biking Challenge (http://www.mawddachgoldrush.org.uk/) on 7th March was also flagged up. This one has been on our website for several months already. For the past 2 years we have (well in advance) offered to sponsor this event (it’s for local charities) to a reasonable sum of money. Both years the Committee have said that they’d contact us when the following year’s arrangements were being made. Both years they haven’t. We have decided to raise money for another local charity this year, South Snowdonia Search and Rescue Team, and so we’ll concentrate our money (and our efforts) on them. If you’d like somewhere to stay for any of the events in Coed y Brenin then check out our website and facilities. We are just 2 miles from the Coed y Brenin Visitor’s Centre and you can ride straight from your cabin onto the trails without hitting the A470 or having to park at the CyB Visitor Centre.
So website’s been updated, new special offers have been posted, enquiries and bookings are all up-to-date… sounds like time for a cup of tea and a piece of cake before I go out to the shops in the rain… yes you heard me right RAIN!
